We completed the letter of your name assignment this week. Essentially we were first supposed to capture an image from the internet. This image could be anything, from some sort of background to an object. The next step was to open a new photoshop file but make sure that the background contents was set to transparent. After that, we pasted the copied image into the background. Finally, we used the eraser tool to carve out each individual letter, using different images for each letter, beginning with the first letter of the first name and making our way to the last letter of the last name.
Photoshop is a great editing tool for images and is simple to use. Using this program, you can create various backgrounds and textures. It is fun to use as well. Their are many tools you can use to edit the image. For the previous project, I used the crop, eraser and text tools. They are all located on the tool side bar. Some of the quick and effective keyboard shortcuts I used are the copy (ctrl+c), paste (ctrl+v), and undo (ctrl+z). Some other keyboard shortcuts that i know are; select all (ctrl+a), close window (ctrl+w) and new tab (ctrl+t).
For info tech we are using a blog site to post our assignments on. This is a good way of handing in assignments. It has been fun using the blog site and customizing it to our own unique preferences. In the layout section, you can change the way the blog looks, customize the widths and lengths of the columns and you can add various gadgets and widgets to the sidebars. I added a link list to the sidebar of my blog and have added a big header. I also created an avatar and added it to the favicon. Another choice you have to change up your blog site is to change code in the html section. You have full control over how your page looks this way.
